Graduate Student Papers

The following showcases some papers and reports that I have completed or have been impressed by on my journey as a library student.

Theory Paper
During the Spring of 2006, I was able to go back to taking one class at a time.  This allowed me to revitalize my life by getting back into a yoga class with my favorite instructor/teacher, practice my horn and clarinet, and dive right into a deeper level of research.  The latter was quite satisfying - regarding my Theory Paper.

Now, a year later (Spring 2007) I am being shadowed by a MLS student who is featuring my work and 'management skills' through the very same course.  I find the situation a bit ironic and of course, I'm very flattered!

During the Fall Quarter of 2005, I completed two projects.  The first one is a Resource Guide for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The second one began as a prototype for an online tutorial.  Now it is located on the Cecil County Public Library's web site to be used by staff and the public.

Here is a link to the report I've worked on (Spring, 2006) (with another Drexel MLS student).  It's a Young Adult Literacy Program called "Mad Roar:  Howls and Hisses in the Library," and was held at the Cecil County Public Library on March 11, 2006 (Part One:  Training of the Teens as Storytellers).  March 17th's Storytelling event went so well that many asked for an annual repeat.

Below is a large report which spanned over two quarters at Drexel.  It consists of much research on young adults (the user group) and generally how they use the library, how they search for information, their information needs and the unique needs of their group within the library realm.

Please note that the Review of the Literature report is available online in two parts:  Part One and Part Two.  This is to accomodate the layout of the Citation Diagram in Part Two.

(Note:  For the purpose of this website, I have added the Footnotes section to the bottom of Part One.  This way, you can easily reference the notations.  They also remain on Part Two, in their "proper" place. There are internal links as well as working links to referenced web sites.  Feel free to cruise around!
